Giant Goldfish Swimming in My Backyard Pool!
Giant Goldfish Swimming in My Backyard Pool!
I wasn’t sure what to think at first when I saw this giant goldfish in my pool. Was it some sort of prank? A practical joke? Then I looked closer and saw that the goldfish was real, and growing right before my eyes!
5 Things Not to Say About a Big Gold Fish
1. That's a big gold fish! - While this may be obvious, stating the obvious can come across as rude or insulting.
2. He's so big! - Again, you are stating the obvious. The fish is already big, there is no need to point out how big he is.
3. What kind of fish is that? - This question can be seen as insulting because it implies that the person does not know what they are talking about.
4. I've never seen a fish that big! - This statement implies that the person is not knowledgeable about fish and makes them seem uneducated.
OMG How Did That Happen?

Did someone dump their pet goldfish into my pool? Or could it be that my little goldfish grew so big from all the love and attention I've been giving it? Whatever the case, I now have a big goldfish swimming in my backyard pool!

What Did You Feed Him?
I was sitting by my backyard pool when I saw a huge gold fish swimming around. I couldn't believe my eyes! I ran inside to get my camera and when I came back, the fish was still there. I snapped a few pictures and then he was gone. I wonder where he came from and what he was doing in my pool. Did somebody drop him off? Or did he escape from a nearby pond? Either way, it's pretty amazing to see such a big gold fish swimming around in my backyard pool!
That’s So Gross
I was swimming in my backyard pool when I saw something huge and gold swimming towards me. I freaked out and got out of the pool as fast as I could. When I looked back, I saw that it was a big gold fish. I must have seen it wrong because there’s no way a fish that big could be in my pool. But then I saw a few more and then more. They were all huge and gold and swimming around in my pool! I don’t know how they got there or where they came from, but it was so gross.
I Can’t Believe He Was Just Floating There This Whole Time
I was sitting by my backyard pool when I saw a huge gold fish swimming around. I couldn’t believe my eyes—I’d never seen a fish that big before! I quickly ran inside to get my camera to take a picture, but by the time I got back outside, the fish was gone. I’ve been keeping an eye out for him ever since, but he hasn’t shown himself again. Maybe he was just passing through and I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of him. Either way, it was a pretty amazing sight!
How Does He Get Around?
I was sitting by my backyard pool when I saw a big gold fish swimming around. I was so surprised! I've never seen a fish that big before. I wondered how he got around. Do goldfish grow that big? Or did someone release him into the wild? Either way, it's amazing to see such a huge gold fish swimming around in my backyard pool!
Since I noticed that huge gold fish in my pool, every time I go outside and look into it, there's always one or two of them swimming around. The other day when I looked at them, I realized they had actually grown even bigger! They must have been growing for quite some time now because it looks like they're more than twice as big as they were last time! It looks like our giant goldfish has grown just as fast as his massive size would suggest.
Let’s Call Animal Control, This is Inhumane!
I was sitting in my backyard, enjoying the nice weather and reading a book when I noticed something huge swimming in my pool. At first, I thought it was a whale, but then I realized it was a goldfish...a giant goldfish! How did this big gold fish get here? And how did it get so big? Huge gold fish must be huge to grow that big. That's why they're called huge or giant goldfish. In addition to being large, some species of large and giant goldfish can grow as long as 2 feet (60 cm). The largest living example of a carp is about 3 feet (90 cm) long from head to tail which is nearly twice the size of an average living human!
For most people with a standard above-ground pool measuring 10 by 30 feet (3 by 9 m), anything larger than one foot (30 cm) will be too heavy for them to easily scoop out or drain out their pool on their own if it gets into their pool.

Oh, this was my fault all along. I fed him breadsticks.
I never should have fed him breadsticks. I was just trying to be nice, but now he's huge gold fish. He's so big that he barely fits in my backyard pool. I feel like I'm swimming with a big gold fish. Every time I go outside, he's there, looking at me with his big gold fish eyes. I think he wants more breadsticks.
OMG, How Can We Get Rid of Him?!
I was sitting by my backyard pool when I saw a huge gold fish swimming around. I couldn't believe my eyes! I got up to get a closer look and sure enough, there was a big gold fish swimming in my pool. I don't know how he got there, but I need to figure out how to get rid of him before he destroys my pool! I went back inside to grab some fishing gear and returned to the yard just as the big gold fish swam right over to me. He wanted something from me and when I didn't respond, he made his way back into the deep end of the pool.
As soon as I had my fishing rod ready with a net on it, the big gold fish swam right over again; this time though, I scooped him up into the net before releasing him back into his natural habitat (the ocean). That's one more thing checked off my list for today!
